Outlook Web - Working with Attachments

Opening Attachments

Whilst the migration to M365 is in progress, some of the new features within Outlook Web will be unavailable or unsupported until we migrate your department fully in time.

To read a document that you do not want to edit, you may choose Preview

This will open the attachment if support in an online viewer, this allows you to quickly review the document online.

Until we migrate fully to M365 some of the functions such as Edit in Browser or Save to OneDrive are currently not supported.  This will be enabled properly when we migrate your department.

If you wish to store or edit a document, it must be downloaded first to your computer.

This will transfer the file to a location called Downloads on your computer.  The following dialog box will appear as this takes place and you can open the file directly from here.

If you don’t need to work on these downloaded attachments immedialy you can locate them using File Explorer and navigating to your Downloads folder at a later time.

Mutiple Attachments can also be downloaded together by selecting Download all.

Adding Attachments to an EMAIL

Click Attach, and select Browse this computer.

Navigate to the location of the file you wish to attach, highlight and click Open.

The file will be uploaded and attached to your email.
