ICE - Screen Resolution error when opening ICE
Problem You get this error message when opening ICE (Pathology and Radiology). Solution If you struggle with any aspect of this solution, please contact the IT Helpdesk. We will be happy to help. You need to set your screen resolution to be greater than the resolution of 1024x768. Also, your scaling may be set to something other than 100%, this will also cause this error. To check and change settings, right click a space on the desktop background. Left Click Display Settings in the menu. If you have multiple screens you need to select the display you are using for ICE. Scroll down to Scale and Layout There are two drop down boxes you need to check and adjust. The Change the size of text, apps and other items (I will call Scaling) and Display resolution. Make sure the Display Resolution is set to anything higher than 1024x768 that you are comfortable using. Note: Both numbers must be higher than the numbers shown in the error. A resolution of 1280x720 will not work as 720 is lower than 768. Scaling also affects the resolution. It needs to be set to 100% but with some larger resolutions you can use 125%. Example, If your settings have a display of 1920x1080 but have a scaling of 150%, the application will not work. This is because the website sees the resolution as 1280x720. The following recommended combinations of resolutions and scaling will work with ICE. Widescreen ratio (16:9) resolutions Scaling 1920x1080 100% 1920x1080 125% 1600x900 100% 1366x768 100% Traditional ratio (4:3) resolutions 1280x1024 100% 1280x1024 125% 1024x768 100% Other combinations of settings are available that will work but these are the most commonly used. You may need to do some trial and error to get the settings that work best for you. If the above doesnt work: One additional settings thing to check is any zoom settings within Edge. ICE had an issue whereby screen settings fell within the acceptable options above but Edge was set at 150%, changing that back to 100% and restarting the Edge browser resolved the problem.
